MYTHOLM Mytholm with St. James, Parish Church of Hebden Bridge photographed from Stubbing Brinks in 1900. A "mytholm" is a place where two streams meet, in this case the Colden valley joining the river Calder. Such an area is liable to flood and King Street from where they took this picture is flooded regularly (so is Mytholm-royd lower down the valley). Ref: 072 Lit & Sci |
