This is a very early photograph of Hebden Bridge showing the old packhorse bridge built around 1510, but since repaired and strengthened many times. It was scheduled as an ancient monument in 1932. On the left is Old Gate before it was lit with electric lighting and raised to alleviate flooding. Bridge Mill chimney is in the background. c1870 Ref: 058 Lit & Sci
